Full of Pokémon and some RENT (film version) songs, the first trilogy of EzloSpirit Music Covers albums set the pattern that the series would follow forever more. It also saw my voice dropping ever so slightly, most noticeably through the first album and between the first and second albums! Embarrassing? Yes, a bit. Could it have been helped? Not really. Normal? Yes. So don't judge, as they say on the Interwebs! Most importantly (in my opinion), it saw a vast improvement in my singing ability over time, including my ability to stay on key (or at least recover from going off-key) and, from a recording standpoint, my ability to regulate my volume so as to reduce an unfortunate phenomenon that audio and sound people call peaking, in which the  volume reaches its "limit" for the microphone and the audio sounds overly loud and "saturated."

My favorite album from Trilogy I is EzloSpirit Sings!.... It was really fun to record because, starting with "Wonderland," I recorded just over half of that entire album in a single 3-to-4-hour period of time. Plus, some of my favorite songs can be heard on it, including "I'll Always Remember You," "We Will Meet Again," "E.G.G.M.A.N.," "Let It Be," "Rent," "Together We Make a Promise," and best of all, a beautiful, improved rerecording of "Make a Wish/Chiisaki Mono," which was originally on the first album.

All that said, my favorite track of Trilogy I is actually on Threedom, and it's only available in the downloadable version of the album as the final track/bonus. I'm obviously referring to my cover of the absolutely beautiful, heart-wrenching number from the late Jonathan Larson's award-winning rock opera, RENT, "I'll Cover You (Reprise)." I just find it to be my best recording of Trilogy I, both as an audio recording (the double-track parts came out well) and as a song. Great emotion on my part.

While there's quite a bit of peaking and a bunch of off-key/wrong bits of songs, especially in the beginning, Trilogy I is classic EMC. These are the covers that began it all. Just don't cringe at my voice in the first album; that's my job!

Note: The listed albums are not necessarily the original albums but the ones that I am most familiar with the respective songs from.
